Moldova offering phone number portability
Moldova's telecoms regulator says that testing of the Mobile Number Portability system has been completed, and the three mobile networks will start to offer the service from the 1st July.
The mobile networks are allowed to take up to 5 days to process a number portability request, but not to charge for the facility.
The Minister of Information Technology and Communications, Pavel Filip, expressed his certitude that enhanced competition between providers will not only bring about an extended range of services, but will also improve service quality and customer care.
The launch of number portability in fixed networks is scheduled for July 31, 2013.
