Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI)
Effective June 1, 2026
This notice explains how MultiTEL protects and uses Customer Proprietary Network Information ("CPNI") and related customer information. It applies when MultiTEL provides mobile/eSIM, voice, messaging, telephone-number, hosted PBX, or other communications service directly to a Personal/Consumer or Business subscriber, and when MultiTEL provides communications services to a provider or reseller serving downstream subscribers.
1. Information covered
CPNI includes information made available through the carrier-customer relationship about the quantity, technical configuration, type, destination, location, and amount of use of a telecommunications service, as well as information appearing on qualifying telephone-service bills. Depending on the Service, this can include calling and called numbers, message metadata, dates, times, duration, routing, service features, network and usage information, and billing records.
Related protected information may include mobile, eSIM, SIM, and device identifiers; assigned telephone numbers; registered emergency-service addresses and location-validation records; account, authentication, contact, and service-address information; and service-profile, KYC, use-case, registration, approval, or enforcement records. Not every item is CPNI in every context, but MultiTEL protects it under applicable privacy, communications, security, and account-information requirements.
2. Direct and downstream subscribers
For direct MultiTEL subscribers, CPNI and related records generally concern the Personal/Consumer or Business account receiving the Service. When a Communications Provider/Reseller is MultiTEL's direct Customer, MultiTEL may hold that provider's account and network records plus limited downstream information supplied for provisioning, routing, registration, emergency services, support, security, or legal compliance. The provider or reseller generally controls its downstream subscriber relationship.
3. Use and disclosure
MultiTEL may use or disclose CPNI without additional Customer approval to provide, provision, bill, troubleshoot, secure, and protect the Service from which the information is derived; prevent fraud and abuse; route communications and emergency services; comply with valid legal process; and perform other uses permitted by law. MultiTEL may provide information to carriers, network and emergency-service providers, registries, contractors, and other processors only as reasonably necessary for those purposes and subject to applicable safeguards.
MultiTEL does not sell CPNI. MultiTEL will obtain any approval required by law before using CPNI to market a category of communications-related service outside the Customer's existing service relationship.
4. Choices and account security
A Customer may restrict optional marketing use of CPNI or change a prior choice at any time by contacting legal@multitel.net or through the CPNI request form. This choice does not affect existing Services or prevent service, billing, security, emergency, or legally required communications.
MultiTEL may authenticate a request using account credentials, contact information already associated with the account, or other reasonable verification. MultiTEL may direct a downstream subscriber to the provider or reseller that administers that subscriber's account. Additional information appears in the Privacy Policy.
